Product details
M5 Pro is built for sustained professional load. The standard 15-core CPU pairs five super cores with ten performance cores alongside a 16-core GPU, and can be configured to an 18-core CPU with a 20-core GPU. Against M4 Pro, Apple quotes up to 4x faster large language model processing, 1.4x faster Blender ray tracing and 1.5x faster Affinity image processing.
Memory is where the Pro pulls away. 307GB/s of bandwidth and up to 64GB of unified memory mean large datasets, 8K ProRes RAW timelines and sizeable local AI models stay resident instead of spilling to disk. Storage runs from 512GB to 8TB and is up to twice as fast as the previous generation.
Three Thunderbolt 5 ports carry up to 120Gb/s each — triple the bandwidth of Thunderbolt 4 — for fast external arrays and docks. It drives up to three 6K displays, adds HDMI, 2.5Gb Ethernet, front USB-C and a headphone jack, and still measures only 5 x 5 x 2.0 inches at 1.6 pounds.
